The Goddard Foundation
Community Impact Grant
The Goddard Foundation invites proposals from non-profit agencies and organizations who share in its mission of positively impacting health and wellness in our community.
To be considered for financial support, applicants MUST:
- Advance the Foundation’s mission in one or more of its designated services areas (Greater Brockton and/or surrounding areas).
- Focus on improving one or more social determinants of health (SDOHs) – i.e. the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes. The World Health Organization defines SDOHs as “the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live, and age, and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life.”
STRONG PREFERENCE will be given to proposals reflecting the Foundation’s overarching values and priorities. These include:
- Driving Innovation: What about your proposal operates at the frontier of existing approaches and/or conventional wisdom?
- Emphasizing Tangible Outcomes: How will you know that your proposal, if supported, will impact actual people and real lives?
- Passionately Serving Our Communities: What is your deeper motivation for doing the work outlined in your proposal?
- Recognizing the Importance of Trust and Accountability: How will you keep the Goddard Foundation apprised of the successes and setbacks that will arise as you implement your proposal?
- Forging Partnerships: In what ways does your proposal build bridges with other community groups and/or help to break down silos among service providers?
- Promoting Equity: How does your proposal address differing life experiences and needs across a diversity of populations?
We ask that you provide a brief narrative (Font: Times New Roman, 750-850 words, doubled-spaced) describing what you hope to accomplish and giving consideration to the questions posed above.
Please note this instrument is intended solely to gauge the Goddard Foundation’s desire to learn more. Additional information will be requested from those advancing to later stages of the application process.
